Description

This Wavin Tigris coupling, type M5, is used in piping systems for drinking water, heating, underfloor heating, and cooling. This coupling allows you to connect two Wavin Tigris pipes together.

In addition to this multi-layer pipe, the Wavin Tigris range includes various other couplings, such as:
  • Multi layer pipes.
  • Wall plates.
  • Mounting bracket.
  • Tools.

Properties

The Tigris M5 coupling is resistant to high pressure and temperatures. Its impact-resistant properties make the coupling widely applicable. The coupling is equipped with several features, including:
  • Multi jaw: Multiple crimp jaw profiles can be used.
  • Opti flow: The larger inner diameter ensures optimized flow.
  • Easy fit: Due to the modified internal structure, there is no risk of damage to the O-ring when inserting the multilayer pipe.
  • In4sure: A quick check where you can see if the pipe is inserted far enough into the fitting.
  • Pipe grip: The pipe stays in place within the coupling when correctly inserted, until it is pressed.

Assembly

The Wavin Tigris coupling can be crimped using Wavin tools. The coupling is equipped with leak detection called: Defined Leak and Acoustic Leak Alert.

The assembly of the coupling goes in a few steps:
  • Cut the pipe to size with a pipe cutter and deburr the ends to prevent a noisy pipe.
  • Insert the pipe into the M5 coupling and check if the pipe is visible in the transparent ring.
  • Press the fitting.
After installing the Wavin Tigris system, a pressure test should be conducted. The Defined Leak control is applied during a pressure test with water. If a coupling is incorrectly pressed, water will flow from the coupling. The K5 and M5 coupling types are also equipped with the Acoustic Leak Alert. This control is applied during a pressure test with air. If a fitting is not properly pressed, a whistling sound will be heard.
